Just want to drop a note to say that I enjoyed teaching about the 9th of Adar to my students.
My grades 4-6 students at Mamad Efrata Talpaz in Armon Hanaztziv learned the mishnah on Machloket leshem shamayim as well as the story of Bet Shammai who brought the sword into the
bet midrash. Students wrote their theories of what m.l.s. is and we used the Rodef Shalom case studies to explore their theories. We concluded that there are two elements—the motivation and the way one reacts. We connected this to our class and how one can react when one is unhappy at school. We will continue to return to this mishnah throughout the year as we encounter various conflicts.
What a pleasure it was to receive a newsletter from my schul in Toronto marking the day as well.
Nice to see it such a success. Yaasher koach!
Kol tuv,
